askMarshal operates under a strict, legally binding Zero-Data Retention for AI Model Training Policy. Your firm’s uploaded evidence, trial exhibits, deposition transcripts, queries, and summaries are NEVER used to train, fine-tune, or evaluate public or commercial artificial intelligence models.

This Privacy Policy governs the collection, processing, and protection of information by askMarshal Technologies Inc. ("askMarshal", "we", "us", or "our"), headquartered at 506 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90401.
We understand that law firms, independent litigators, and corporate legal departments operate under strict professional ethics obligations, including ABA Model Rule 1.6 (Confidentiality of Information) and state bar duty-of-technology competence rules. Our technical infrastructure is purpose-built to comply with these professional standards.

All data handled by askMarshal is protected using multi-layered enterprise encryption standards:
- Encryption in Transit: TLS 1.3 cryptographic protocols protect all data moving between your web browser and our servers.
- Encryption at Rest: AES-256 encryption secures stored documents, database indexes, and workspace backups.
- Cryptographic Tenant Isolation: Case workspaces are isolated with unique database container keys preventing cross-tenant access.
5. Sub-processors & US-Based Data Hosting
All customer data is hosted in Tier-4, SOC 2 Type II certified US data center facilities (Amazon Web Services / Google Cloud Platform). We maintain executed Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with every sub-processor requiring compliance with US legal confidentiality standards. We do not sell, rent, or trade customer information to third parties or advertising networks.
6. Data Retention & Permanent Erasure
You maintain complete control over your case files. You may delete individual documents or entire case workspaces at any time. Upon account cancellation, all associated data is permanently erased from active databases within 30 days and cryptographically overwritten in backup systems.

Pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, as well as the right to opt out of data sharing.
